Just returned from a brilliant tour of Bhutan. Did not rate the roads or food much, but the birds were great. Some great oportunities for photography and some photos will follow over the next few weeks or so.
It is a great country to see some of the himalayan specialities which are difficult in Nepal or India such as Satyr Tragopan and the very rare and critically endangered White-bellied Heron. No photos of the latter as too distant and in failing light. However great views through the telescope.

Rufous-throated Wren-babbler: a difficult species to see as it lives in thick undergrowth. Just a glimpse is what you mostly get so this one was very obliging.

Slender-billed Scimitar Babbler. Another difficult species to see.

Alpine Accentor. The same as one can see in Europe. Seen at about 3000 m.

Satyr Tragopan. A Himalayan speciality and again not easy to see, more often heard than seen.
Not the best of photos as it was foggy and raining.
